I don’t buy that Gold only remembered his identity when Emma said her name. The guy’s lived for hundreds of years, and done a ton of evil things. There’s no way anyone, not even a badass like Mr Gold, could suddenly regain five lifetimes worth of memories and not show any sign of it.

And he just happened to unknowingly select Emma’s child for Regina to adopt? Seems way too much of a coincidence.

I feel the same way. I don't even know what some people would think of Rumpelstiltskin if not for Skin Deep. I wish we had their feels on the character before and after. I'm not bothered that they like him now but it's just kind of sad they couldn't see what other people did before that episode.

I don’t care that much that people started liking him because of the ship. Hey, it got me like 100+ followers in under one day, and a massive increase in Rumpelstiltskin graphics, that’s always good. I feel like some fans aren’t used to liking villains as characters though, so they latched onto the Bae and Belle storyline; we’re meant to be sympathising with him there, therefore it’s okay to like him. Now that he has a tragic backstory.

I just don’t like seeing fanblogs for him I know only exist because of Skin Deep. If Rumbelle is what made you like Rumpelstiltskin, make a Rumbelle blog. Although there are a bit too many of those too…
